Riparian Restoration: Status

In a nutshell, where do we stand with Riparian Restoration in New Mexico?

Part 1 of 2

We floated the rivers about 3.5 miles @ 600+cfs. There were many obstacles at this level. Many downed trees in the cutting banks. The river was just down from 800+ cfs and at the higher levels it took about 30 min to float a 1.5 mile section. Fast!

We saw a Beaver on the way down and lots of sign of recent Beaver activity in many sections of this short float. While I'm really glad to see the Beaver. It's sad to see more Cottonwood Trees down. With fewer Cotton Wood Trees the INVASIVE SPECIES are having an easier time taking over.

We need to repair our watershed. It's our LIFE!
